Brief Bio
mal.x (pronounced malex) is short for Maddy and Alex, a married soft dance/pop duo based in Los Angeles. They write vulnerable music touching on topics such as mental health, insecurity, self confidence, and social issues but with lively music influenced by EDM, Hip-Hop, and Bossa Nova. They write and produce everything themselves in their living room studio.
Starting with a background in classical music, but with a love of all music in between, it's been a long journey to find the mal.x sound. Being from Caracas, Alex brings a unique flair to the production, while Colorado born Maddy evokes natural imagery with her lyrics. Alex is known for his ability to pick up and play any instrument and Maddy stuns with her angelic voice.
Every song is different, stylistically and lyrically, because they love to let the music do what it wants to do naturally. It's an important element to their sound, and they hope you appreciate the range and difference in the music.
